What Sets Us Apart

Founded in 2008, Providence Family Life Center began as a grassroots effort to restore dignity and well-being through basic community support such as meals, clothing, mentorship, and resource referrals.
After relocating to Southwest Florida in 2016, the organization responded to local needs by helping vulnerable populations—including veterans, seniors, and children with disabilities—access essential services, generate income through disability application support, and secure transitional housing.
The impact of major disasters, including Hurricanes Irma and Ian, deepened the organization’s understanding of how trauma affects mental and physical health, shaping a shift toward prevention, education, and long-term recovery.
This work led to the creation of the Mind Body Movement Living Laboratory, a trauma-informed space offering accessible movement and wellness education that helps people reduce stress, rebuild strength, and restore their sense of stability.
Today, Providence Family Life Center remains a hyper-local organization committed to educating communities about trauma, crisis, and resilience, while empowering individuals to heal, prepare, and thrive in the face of ongoing challenges.
